A rebuild that answers the phone before the phone rings.

Emergency traffic was arriving and leaving. The site took 4.8 seconds to become usable on a mid-range phone and sent every intent through one generic contact form.

[ 01 / 04 ] THE SITUATION

The site looked current and converted almost nothing. A hero video pushed the phone number below the fold, and the only path to contact was a nine-field form that asked for an address before it asked what was wrong.

Under pressure, on a phone, a homeowner gives a site about two seconds. Discovery measured that the traffic was already there. The loss was entirely between arrival and contact.

[ 02 / 04 ] WHAT RAN, IN ORDER

MONTH 1Discovery set the architectureA full crawl, a conversion path audit, and a decision recorded before design started: split emergency from scheduled work rather than redesign the existing structure.
MONTHS 2–4The rebuildSemantic templates on EtchWP and ACSS, tap-to-call fixed above the fold, a two-field emergency form, and a performance budget defended at launch and on every deploy since.
MONTHS 4–6Conversion work on topField-level form analytics found two fields causing most abandonment. Both were removed and the offer above the fold was rewritten around availability rather than credentials.

[ 04 / 04 ] WHY IT WORKED

Speed is a budget, not a bonus. Every second before the page is usable removes a share of an audience that is already holding a wrench in the other hand.

The larger gain came from separating intents. Emergency and scheduled work are different buyers with different questions, and one shared form was making both of them do the sorting.
